Facilities
General Facilities
Given our location directly on the Atlantic Ocean, we expect our campers to enjoy themselves whether by fishing, swimming, or just strolling along the shore. We have a small sandy beach and plenty of rocks to climb on. However, use of the beach, swimming and/or boating is at your own risk and does constitute leaving the campground. We do not have a life guard on duty. Please keep this in mind if you bring small children to the campground.
Each site at Lobster Buoy comes equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. All of our sites are grassy. Please be considerate and upon your departure from your campsite clean up anything you may have left behind. Please burn any debris that may have accumulated in your fire ring.
We have a fully equipped bathroom building. We have coin-operated showers that cost a quarter for each five minutes of water and flush toilets. Also on the side of the bathhouse is an outdoor sink to make your dishwashing and clam cleaning a little bit easier. There is a water spigot located on the side of the building. During the months of July and August we also have two portable restrooms located in the campground.
Our office also doubles as a small campground store. We sell soda, candy, bundles of wood, ice and basic necessities. We also have freshly brewed coffee and homemade donuts during July and August.
We encourage children to bring their bicyles and tricycles to the campground. However, we have a strictly enforced 5 mph speed limit for all vehicles within the campsite in order to promote safety for everyone. We do not allow bicycles to be ridden down the office hill.
Tenters
At Lobster Buoy we have a special tenting area located directly on the ocean. It is perfectly located so that you can go to sleep to the sound of the waves and upon waking, watch for aquatic wildlife right from your tent. That's why we call it Lookout Beach. It is great for kayakers and canoers and has a conveniently located water spigot. We do not put anything other than tents in this area and only allow one tent per site.
We also have many other tent sites. If you'd like a bit more privacy, we have sites that are enclosed on three sides by trees. We also have tenting sites that are more open and closer to the restrooms.
Our tent sites do not have water or electric hookups. If you would like hookups on your site, please mention so when you make your reservation.
RVs and Trailers
We welcome trailers and RV's to our campsite. We have several sites with prime views of the ocean. We accomodate pop-ups, trailers, and motorhomes. Please be considerate when you park your trailer as to allow your neighbors to have views of the ocean as well.
We have water and electric hookups and a conveniently located dump station. Please use the hose provided to clean the dump station after dumping your grey water.
We provide 20 and 30 amp electrical service. Your cords must be original equipment, #10 wire with 30 amps or #12 with 20 amps. #14 or #16 wire cannot be used with our services. Please refrain from coiling your electric wires.
We do not allow generators or air conditioners to be used at our campground.
Group Camping
Large groups of people may want to think about booking our group site. The group site is generally reserved for groups of tenters. We especially welcome bicycle and kayaking groups.
The group area is set apart from the rest of the campground. It is located on a grassy area shaded by trees. Currently we do not offer water or electric hookups for the group area but there is a water spigot in the group field.
